Testing

Automated Testing Equipment

Our production test capability is quite impressive. Rantec is significantly invested in automated test equipment. Our philosophy is to generate a specific ATE Station for each product which use in-house developed programming to test, record and store data for a wide variety of performance parameters. This data can later be used for trend analysis. Rantec ATE Stations were initially developed exclusively for our internal use but due to customer demand we also sell them for use at our customer’s facilities. Customers have reported that our ATE Stations increase their capacity, increase consistency, improve their system reliability, and reduce in-house labor costs. Contact our Sales Team if you desire more information regarding custom test equipment.

ATE

Central to Rantec’s testing philosophy are several in-house designed ATE stations.  Each new design that Rantec produces includes the effort to develop a test fixture to integrate the new power supply to the ATE station, as well as the development of a test script to define the test parameters for each power supply.  Test parameters are determined by the parameters of product specifications.  Both sub-assemblies and final assemblies are tested via ATE.

ATE Info

Automated testing provides benefits of minimizing tough labor, consistent performance testing, test data recording and storage, and availability of test results for retrieval and analysis.  Rantec is highly capitalized in automated test equipment and environmental test equipment. Rantec leans on its sister company, WesTest Engineering Services, which has been providing automated test equipment to military depots for decades.

Environmental

On site, Rantec possesses a wide variety of environmental test equipment for conducting testing over a wide variety of conditions, such as temperature, temperature cycling, altitude, and vibration.  Products can be tested and monitored under power or un-powered.  Rantec performs a variety of our Design Qualification testing in house, utilizing our environmental lab.

Interestingly, Rantec ATE and Environmental test equipment were primarily designed for Rantec’s internal testing needs, however, our customer base has recognized the value of our ATE and has sought to obtain similar systems for their own use.  Rantec now sells ATE Systems to customers.

EMI

Additionally, Rantec possesses an EMI screen room, used to validate compliance to MIL-STD-461 EMI requirements.  We are capable of performing testing including Conducted Emissions, Conducted Susceptibility, and Radiated Emissions testing.  For other required tests, Rantec employs the services of a local laboratory facilities.

Production ESS

All final Rantec production units are subjected to an ATP, prior to being subjected to ESS (vibration and burn-in), to weed out potential infant mortality.  After completing ESS, a final ATP is run before shipment to the customer.
