Power supplies designed in the spirit of a Modular Open Systems Approach

Rantec’s MOSA products achieve high efficiency DC-DC conversion with multiple DC outputs including SOSA-aligned outputs of +12V and +3.3V_AUX. Users with increasing battlefield demands can make use of advanced power converter features such as MIL-STD compliance, input to output isolation, health monitoring signals, IPMI communication per VITA 46.11, and low noise and high efficiency. In addition, Rantec’s MOSA products address the needs of today’s VITA 62/86 plug‑in applications. Rantec leverages our existing MOSA products to support customers unique requirements where an off-the-shelf solution does not meet the needs of the system.

Rantec developed a military-grade VPX power supply solution for a critical fighter jet application when existing VITA 62 products couldn’t meet voltage and environmental demands. We led the VITA 86 standard, ensuring MOSA compliance. The product features patented lightning protection to handle DO-160 lightning strikes, significantly enhancing aircraft capability. This power supply is now fully qualified, fielded, and in high-rate production.
